Guiding elements

Guiding elements

Guide elements are essential components used in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders to guide the piston or rod and absorb lateral (radial) forces. They prevent metal-to-metal contact, minimizing wear, increasing system durability, and ensuring reliable operation.

Depending on application requirements, guide elements are available in the form of guide rings, bands, or bushings. They are manufactured from high-performance materials resistant to friction, heat, and hydraulic fluids, such as:

  • PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) – very low friction coefficient, excellent chemical resistance

  • POM (Polyacetal) – good rigidity and dimensional stability

  • Fiber-reinforced composites – high mechanical and thermal resistance

Guide elements stabilize reciprocating movement, reduce vibrations, prevent rod misalignment, and protect sealing systems. They are widely used in heavy industry, mobile machinery, agricultural equipment, and automation systems.
