Description
The O-ring 66.04×5.33 mm in FPM (FKM) material with a hardness of 80 Shore A is a sealing element with a classic torus profile — circular in cross-section. The ring is manufactured as a homogeneous, seamless elastomeric component produced by injection moulding, with the injection point positioned at 45° to the cross-sectional plane in accordance with standard practice, minimising the influence of the gate mark on sealing performance. The toroidal geometry provides linear contact with the groove surfaces on both the pressure and atmosphere sides.
FPM (fluoroelastomer, also referred to as FKM or Viton®) offers excellent chemical resistance to mineral oils, hydrocarbon fuels, mineral-based hydraulic fluids, greases, and most acids and aromatic solvents. The 80 Shore A hardness represents a higher stiffness compared to the standard 70 Shore A, resulting in reduced material extrusion tendency at elevated operating pressures. The typical service temperature range for FPM is –15°C to +200°C, depending on the specific medium.
This seal conforms to DIN 3771 and is suitable for static (axial and radial) and dynamic (reciprocating) sealing applications in hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, industrial valves, engines and gearboxes.
