Piston seal KGD 90x72x22,5

The KGD 90×72×22.5 mm piston seal pack is a compact double-acting seal designed for hydraulic cylinders. Manufactured by Aston Seals, this assembly consists of three coordinated components: a central NBR rubber sealing element, two anti-extrusion rings made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and two angular wear rings made of glass-fibre reinforced polyoxymethylene (POM).

The rubber sealing element features low permanent deformation. Three compact sealing edges concentrate the load on the dynamic surface, while the cavities between them retain small quantities of fluid to reduce friction and wear. The geometry of the static side provides a wide contact area within the groove, preventing distortion during installation. The anti-extrusion rings stabilise the rubber element and prevent its rotation. The wear rings centre the piston within the cylinder bore and absorb radial loads.

The seal can be installed in a closed groove on a one-piece piston or in an open groove on a two-piece piston. Assembly sequence: rubber element – TPE support rings – POM wear rings. Lead-in chamfers on the piston and cylinder bore must be rounded and free of burrs. Lubricate the sealing element with system oil before installation.
