The K37 rod seal is a two-piece, single-acting sealing ring designed for application in the gland cap or housing of hydraulic cylinders. The profile configuration consists of an elastomeric main sealing ring and an integrated anti-extrusion back-up ring.

The primary sealing element is manufactured from nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) vulcanized together with impregnated cotton fabric, forming a solid integral structure. This fabric-reinforced base enhances the mechanical friction resistance and minimizes seal edge deformation under working loads. The second component is a back-up ring made of polyoxymethylene (POM). This thermoplastic element serves as an active anti-extrusion ring, safeguarding the elastomeric profile from expanding or shifting into the clearance gap under severe load fluctuations or high-pressure peaks.

Note on height dimension (H): For K37 and K36 sealing profiles, the height (H) specified in the product documentation refers to the nominal width of the housing groove (installation gap). The actual physical height of the seal itself is manufactured slightly smaller to ensure a specific technological clearance inside the groove. This clearance prevents axial over-compression of the seal assembly. The exact design clearance varies according to the nominal diameters of the seal.

Installation Information:

Prior to assembly, the housing area must be thoroughly cleared of any machining residues or dirt particles, and the sealing components should be pre-lubricated with the designated system oil.
